A group of civil and architectural engineers gather weekly to talk about missional living in engineering, pray, and encourage one another. This past week we all wrote down what the Gospel means to us and how we would share it with others. We then read it outloud to the group. I was so encouraged to see how God has touched each one of us uniquely, and yet consistently. It was so beautiful to hear everyone’s understanding of Jesus! The following day I briefly shared what has happened the night before with one of my Muslim girlfriends. Of course, she asked me “Well, what did you write?” It was the most natural question, but I was totally taken off guard. I shared with her, and even though she didn’t take any special interest in it, I was still able to pray with her over lunch about an injury she has. I know God is working in her life, and I’m grateful to be a part of it!

One of the guys who lives in San Jac came to church with me on Sunday morning.  Afterwards, we went to Cypress Bend Café (the restaurant in San Jac), and had a great conversation.  We talked about what it means to be a Christian.  He has grown up in Church, and he makes a conscious effort to follow Christian values and go to church on Sundays, but said that he can not think of a time when he made a conscious or public decision to follow Christ.  We talked about what it takes to be saved from Romans 10:9-10 and the fact that salvation is by faith, not works from Ephesians 2:8-10.  We also talked about what it means to be a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).  Finally, we talked about how Christianity is not a religion, but a relationship with the living God.  My friend seemed a little uncertain about whether he was a believer in Christ in this sense, and he doesn’t really have a personal relationship with God.  Pray that he will be convicted if he has never really committed his life to Christ, and that by our interactions with him, he will be able to see what life with Christ looks like.  He said he has never done a daily quiet time with God before, and that he will try to do that this week.  I encouraged him just to take 5 or 10 minutes in the morning, read some of the book of John, and pray.  I also told him that he needs to examine his own heart and ask God if he is right with Him.  Pray that the Holy Spirit will move in his heart and that God will powerfully reveal himself!  To Him be the Glory!

I was doing a Bible Study with a bunch of friends in my dorm. Anyway one of my friends invited his girlfriend and she felt like what we were talking about was a sign for her. It was pretty cool.

    1. I will post stories like this each week. I send an email out each week to about 100 MC leaders. When they reply back with stories I compile them and send them out the next week. Email if you’d like to be added to the email list or if you have a story to send me! justin@campusrenewal.org
